Patient Testimonials 2008

Dr. Hyman,

First, I want to tell you how thoroughly pleased my daughter is with the results of her hip surgery.  She is off crutches and feels no pain when she walks!  Also, the crunching, grinding sound is gone.  We can't begin to thank you enough.

Triumphant comeback November 2008.    Since you had so much to do with Katheryn getting back on the soccer field, just thought I'd pass along this article from ESPN.  Click on the link.  You know that knee better than anyone!

"Potentially, I could play for two more years after this season, but physically, this will be it for me," Hurst said. "But I'll be satisfied with that, especially if we win conference this year."

October 2008.   Dr. Hyman & Staff,

A colleague of mine is having surgery the day before my surgery this week; same diagnosis different shoulder.  We exchanged office visit stories and pre-op experiences today and I wanted to let you know that your level of service supersedes that of other surgeons and staff.  All my colleague could say was "your doctor and staff is so much better than mine you are so prepared and well informed". I would have to definitely agree!  She didn't receive half the information I did last week and she never met with her doctor or anesthesiologist during pre-op, just the PA; how alarming.

In a world where criticisms are usually what people hear the most, I wanted to pass along some positive feedback and thank you for providing such excellent service.  Have a good day and see you on Friday!

Regards,
C.F.

Doc! I gotta laugh about this. I think its funny how you were so humble about not taking credit at getting my hip fixed with my arthoscopic surgery...and then I see these patient stories and OMG, there are tons of people who feel the same way!  I knew it would turn out great and so did you!  I'm so glad I didn't let my insurance company force me to go with that other doctor! He said it would take two surgeries and didn't even know which ones!

I seriously have not felt this good in so many years. It's only been six weeks and I can't even tell I had the surgery.  My popping is gone and I can do things I forgot I knew how to do.  I almost can't remember the pain, I just know it hurt!  Thanks again, and I'll see you next month for follow up.

Dr. Hyman, thank you so much for doing my hip arthroscopy surgery!  I thank God every day that I had that surgery since I have finally gotten rid of the pain that has kept me awake at night for years.  I can't believe it.  And to think I almost had the surgery done open....  Scary.

I have stopped taking all my other medications, b/c I was taking all of them due to the pain, sleeplessness and stress. I feel wonderful and healthier than ever! Thank you!!!

Re: Hip arthroscopy

Dear Dr. Hyman, Kelly, Tai, and all,

Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.  For the first time in approximately a year and a half I am pain free.  Yes I do have some soreness but NO pain.  I knew from the first phone call when I spoke with Tai and made the initial appointments that I had dialed the right number.  Her caring and ability to listen were obvious as she helped coordinate with my schedule.  She and Valerie both have always been helpful, cheerful, and always seem to have a smile in their voices.    I appreciate the time that Kelly and you have spent with me explaining things, scheduling everything, and particularly in finding that right answer.

I had actually felt at times that I would just have to live with the pain and that I obvious had my mother's skeletal problems.  I was even tired of complaining.  I just want to thank all of you for listening, caring, and bringing me this far.    The morning of my surgery I knew things would be good as Kelly came in cheerful as ever, the OR nurse turned out to be the niece of one of our patients, and then you arrived and when I asked how you were your response was "Great."  I knew I was blessed.

Your entire team is absolutely wonderful which speaks volumes about Dr. Jon Hyman.

With much appreciation,
HM

"To: Dr. Hyman

Thank you for treating me like a son when it came to my medical health.  I know I wouldn't have the success I've had without you and your staff.  I would like to say I really appreciate the time you took out for the Tucker Football Program.  Thank you!

P.S. Thanks for being my #1 fan."

Dr. Hyman, our boys graduate tomorrow, one from high school and the other from college.  They would not be able to go on to keep playing like the wild boys they are if you hadn't put them back together.  I think the invitations may have gotten to you too late, but please know that you are in our prayers and gratitude for all your work and patience.  Your staff was excellent and we felt like you all really kept us informed through both of their surgeries.  As a parent, that means so much!  Hopefully our family won't see you again for a while!  Thank you so much.

Doc!  You and your staff were so professional.  In my job I work with a lot of physicians, and I've never met one who was so willing to take time to teach and ensure the patient understands.  My wife and I are so grateful for your extra time to help us understand what we are facing.  That's half the battle!  We are excited to have you doing the surgery and look forward to the best possible outcome for her difficult situation.  You have all our confidence.

Dr. Hyman,
Just want to share some great news.  K.M Just made the varsity team! She fought her way through the rehab like you said she would.  I cannot believe it.  When I saw her blow out her knee, I wondered if she'd ever walk again, let alone play!

I can't believe how well she's done, and so quickly (relatively speaking). Thanks again.  PS. I sent my neighbor's son to you because he was told he needs a hip surgery and I told him do nothing until they get your opinion.  All the best!  We are going to send you some tickets to a game too!

Doc, Thank you for your help and for a wonderful medical experience!!

January 2008

Dr.Hyman:
Happy New Year and congratulations on going "solo." I know you will continue to excel wherever you go....just plan to stay in Atlanta!
Since my shoulder surgery (approx. 1 and one-half years) ago, my right knee and left knee problems, I have come a long way with your medical expertise, patience, understanding bedside manner and compassion for "what hurts." You have always gone the extra mile to explain what is involved and how to achieve success with or without surgery.  Most of us with our hurts dont find professionals like you who really take the time to show concern. You and your excellent staff (always willing to lend a hand and answer questions) have made me and my family...(my son is) one of your biggest fans. Thank you for all you do and for doing it so well. Wishing you continued success in all your endeavors. Please continue to stay in touch.
Sincerely,
G A A G

Doc,
As for my knees, they feel very sturdy!  I have started training for the summer season of the W-League.  I was invited to tryout for the NY Magic as well as Atlanta Silverbacks.  I have used my knee brace off and on since September but feel comfortable enough to leave it off now.

You have magic hands that have healed both of my knees.  Thank you for all that you have done.  I will stay in touch and keep you posted on my next move.
