October 2006
Dear Dr. Hyman,

Thank you for yesterday!  Health is the most important thing in life.  I must say I was concerned about my neck and shoulder. Still am.  But your genuine concern for my well being truly made a tremendous difference in how I left your office Tuesday.  Valerie is equally as good and the warmth felt by you and your great staff is how I'd say....old school medicine.
Thank you very much.  GE
September 2006,
Well Dr. Hyman,

A year has come and gone since my surgical anniversary date (8/11).  Eight days after my anniversary date, I aided my team in clinching the 3.75 USTA City Championship!!!!!!!  I owe it all to the awesome HYMAN TEAM because you all gave me another chance.  This was my first championship with my new knee.  It was so funny when I walked out on the court because one of my opponents said, "Wow, what's wrong with your knee?"  I calmly replied, "Nothing." and went on to defeat a team that had never lost a match , 6-0, 7-6.  The feeling was awesome and I will never forget it.  I am over my jitters and cannot thank you enough for my 2nd chance!  By the way, I am the one that has the big smile on the right hand side.  I did wear my brace, I just did not have it on in the photo (smile).

Sincerely,

Portia Carter
August, 2006    Dr. Hyman,

I just want to say thanks again for the great job you did on my shoulder, I was really astonished as to how there was barely any pain. Could you send me the videos of my surgery to this e-mail address. See you in 6 weeks. HB

August 2006.    Dr. Hyman,

Comeback Success Story Thanks to you Scott is able to play again. So thought you'd appreciate this article. I e-mailed the author of this article and told him that you performed the Oats procedure on Scott. The first 3 games will be televised and the closest game is at Clemson on 9/23.

August 2006, A belated ---but very sincere--thank you!

Dear Drs Garten and Hyman--

I just wanted to drop you a quick note to say hello, and a belated “thank you” for taking time at the golf tournament to help my Mom when she was not feeling well…   I was so touched, too, when you called the next day to see how she was doing… I know how busy you must be, but that meant a lot to us.  Mom stayed at Gwinnett Medical that night for observation, and had a few tests the next day (they were pleased with the results, all things considered.)   Thank you again for your kindness and support that night---- I look forward to seeing you all again soon!     -GT

Dr. Hyman,

I just wanted to say thanks for the great job you did in surgically repairing my knee almost two weeks ago. I was very impressed with the whole operation. You made some quick decisions during the operation that were always with my best interests in mind. And assuming my rehab will continue to go well (which it currently is), I should have a fully functional knee. It was a very professional job. So thanks again.

Doc cleared me to get back out on the water after 8 months of therapy...  Ironically, I still hurt after leaving the docs office and then on Friday I felt better...  Must be prayer!  Still working on the shoulder, but that's okay.

Pictures below are from 2 days after meeting w/ the Doc over this past weekend...  All is good w/ the knee...  Thanks for all the prayers...  I can't tell you how it felt to be back out on the water over the weekend...  God bless you all!  Thanks Dr. Hyman!!

Doc!    Thank you again for all you did for us.  I know why Dr. Phillips considers you a "world class physician".  I especially appreciate you taking the time to see our daughter even though we weren't on an insurance plan you accepted.  We sincerely appreciate you sharing your expertise with us.

Dr. Hyman,

Thank you!  I am recovering well and feel great!  I’m back in the gym this week and actually started taking spin classes without experiencing any pain or discomfort..  In addition, I continue to diligently perform the PT exercises you prescribed.

You stated after approximately 5-6 weeks post recovery I would be able to begin jogging.  However, I would like to know how soon I can begin strength training with either weights or resistance bands.  I admit I’m excited and anxious as I have a lot of work to do, but I can assure you my injury has taught me to listen to my body and respond appropriately.

I look forward to hearing from you and thank you and your staff once again.

Doc -It was good to see you today and I appreciate the time
you've spent working with me over the last 6 months.  Even
though I'm not an athlete, you've treated me really well.

Thank you, PA.  April 2006

 Doc,

I wanted you to know that I played in my first match (with my braces--smile) on today and we beat our opponents 6-1, 6-1 (Level A-1 ALTA Women). I was so excited and pumped (a little nervous).  Now that I have been playing with the brace, I have been getting used to moving around with it.  It is my friend!  The weirdest thing is that my surgical knee is SOOOOOOOOOOO STRONG!  I am now building up the strength and endurance in my left knee.  Whew!

Again, thanks for all that you did!  I finally feel like I am BACK!!!!

Dr. Hyman,

On a personal note, I believe you are doing the whole "doctor" thing
well; While you seem to have first class facilities, it's the people
who make it work; All of my interactions yesterday were with people who seem to enjoy being there and that speaks well to your leadership. Thank you for your attention to my daughter, you did a fantastic job of explaining the complexity of the injury, in terms and "pictures" that she could understand.

Dear Dr. Hyman,

Just a note to tell you that LS is doing great!! ....he has been lifting and running with no pain whatsoever. Spring ball will start on March 3 and he feels like a new man thanks to the great job you did on his knee.

His mom and I are certainly glad we found you as if we had not his career at North Carolina would have been over. Keep up the good work.

Please keep me on your patient list as well. My knee has been doing OK but you can never tell when it may flare up again.

Warmest Regards,
