Patient Testimonials 2005

Good Afternoon Dr. Hyman,

I wanted to touch base quickly to say thank you.

I had previously viewed some physicians in the same light as auto mechanics. The good ones are really hard to find, and the rest are consumed with the making a dollar.

Working in the healthcare field, I have ran across many instances where a doctor will schedule a C-section rather than a natural birth solely to boost bill rate. I have seen surgery be mandated for injuries that did not warrant it.

I was skeptical about coming to an Orthopedic Surgeon because I was afraid that underlying intentions might influence the advice I would receive.

I appreciate you taking the time to educate me about my injury. I also appreciate the kindness and professionalism of the entire staff at Atlanta Sports Medicine. Additionally, I would like to thank you for making me feel so comfortable about the whole situation.

The interactive website, and ability to email queries was also very helpful.

Thank you again, you have restored my faith and confidence in Modern Medicine : )

Best Regards,

Dr. Hyman,

It has only been 3 days since you did my acl revision. I can not tell you what a difference this has made. I can not thank you enough or even have words for what you did for me. This is truly life changing for me and my family. I will be able to run and play with my children, coach gymnastics and be able to spot again.
This has been a really long painful depressing road I have been going down, and I know I still have a long road of recovery ahead of me. This time I know I can look to the future and see this is truly recovery and have encouragement about it.
Thank you for accepting me, and making things right.

Sincerely,
Lorilee

To Dr. Hyman and his entire staff:

I would like to first of all thank you for your professionalism throughout my pre-surgical and post-surgical care. As you know, tennis players (especially the ones that wear their special "tennis socks" at every appointment) can be very direct. I was that way because I wanted "Dr. hyman's goal to be my goal". Little did I know, Dr. Hyman knew my goal BEFORE he ever met me. I desperately wanted to play again and he knew it! This probably did not change his approach to my surgery because his goal is for success with ALL of his surgeries.

My experiences (excluding my initial meltdown when I was told that tennis was out for a while--Sorry Dr. Hyman--smile) have been so positive because of the confidence I placed in my orthopedist and his staff.

This was my first ACL repair and hopefully my last, but if I had to do it over again, Dr. Hyman would be my first choice again, and again and again!

With, sincere gratitude I thank you for my new (bionic) knee!

Dr Hyman,

This is just a quick note to thank you and the team that worked on me yesterday. In short I appreciate the attentive, professional care and could not envision a better experience. I truly am thankful to be under your care. Frankly, I am a bit surprised at the minimal pain, but realize the rehab is going to be a long road. I am confident, however, that the same level of care will be a part of that experience and am looking forward to getting through it. Again, thank you and see you next week.

Dr. Hyman,

You asked that I email you with results about a month after you gave me an injection in my left should to relieve some pain and inflammation from arthritis. The shot did work wonders and unless I sleep on my left side I have no pain. If I sleep on it there is some soreness for about the first hour, then seems to go away.

The good news is that I am back to normal activities (except running which is off because by my back) including once a week 2.4 mile open water swims and competitive level cycling. Thanks for listening and avoiding surgery, at least for a while. Now if there was just a shot like that for my back!

Thanks again, I appreciate this every day.

Dr. Hyman,

I wanted to drop you a note to thank your staff, particularly Valerie, for her excellent care during my pre-and post-op. Valerie was very patient and responsive to questions and concerns during the pre-op phase. She never failed to respond to my emails within just a few hours. I truly appreciate the “customer service” that she provided.

Just to touch base with you re: our patient...I finally got a parent. My impression is that they will both be in to see you to discuss. By the way, after 10 years in PT, can you believe that you are one of the only physicians that has taken this kind of personal interest in a patient? Sad but true. It was a pleasure to speak to you and I too take a personal interest in my patients. If you ever have any concerns or special requests, please feel free to pick up the phone or email me.

Thank you

Best regards,

Dr. Hyman,

I wanted to tell you again how grateful I am to you. I truly appreciate you and frankly, you are the best doctor I've ever had. Your staff is so caring and professional (and efficient). Linda and Valerie were outstanding. You not only fixed both my shoulders, they are better than before I hurt them. You should teach doctors to be more instructive and educational and teach them efficiency and good business practices as well.

Your electronic records and scribe are really good too. Thank you so much. I can't thank you enough.

Dear Dr. Hyman,

I have received and reviewed your Independent Medical Evaluation for my client. I would like to sincerely thank you for your assistance in this case. I am especially grateful that you were able to complete the report on such a short time frame during the holidays. Furthermore, your assistants, Valerie and Tai, were remarkably professional and helpful throughout the whole process.
Best regards.

Very truly yours,

Dear Dr. Hyman:

I wanted to take a moment and thank you for the quality of care and personal attention I received from you and your staff over the last 4 months while I awaited my shoulder surgery. Your patience, attention to detail, and the complete access to you via email are exceptional and abnormal. I am in the Pharmaceutical Industry and I have met few physicians, if any, with this type of commitment to patient access. I think we should start a business called Patient Access Online, create a patient documentation program, sell the system, offer seminars on patient satisfaction (customer satisfaction), patent the process and make millions. Let me know if you are interested.

I also know in order for you to be able to provide the patient satisfaction described above, you need a qualified and competent team of professional surrounding you. Thus, I would also like to single out and thank Linda Sandberg too because she took the time to communicate with me regularly via phone and email during the whole process of surgery and pre-op scheduling, rescheduling and rescheduling yet a third time due to my difficult airway and the abnormal logistics created by utilizing Stella Mares facility and my schedule. I would also like to point out that 2 times during this 4 month process Linda left me messages stating I could reach her at home in the evenings due to my extensive travel schedule so we could finalize dates and times for pre-op and surgery. Linda took the time to go off site and check-in with me personally prior to my surgery at Stella Mares as well; this was comforting and really exemplifies how committed you and your team are to your patients.

Customer Satisfaction occurs when you meet, beat and exceed expectation of the customer. Thus far, I am a completely satisfied customer working hard at therapy to become one of your success stories. I have already referred another patient (torn acl) to you and given your name to another friend of mine for their daughter as well, and I will continue to do so in the future. Additionally, please feel free to use this letter, or give my name and phone number listed above to any patients as a reference. Thanks again for all the above and spending 35-40 minutes going over the surgery photos and the anatomy book I brought to post-op. I look forward to seeing you next month and reporting my progress.

Sincerely,
Jeff Thompson

I just wanted to send you a quick email complimenting Resurgens from a patient's perspective. I twisted my knee on a ski vacation in December and my internist referred me to Resurgens.
The doctor that I saw was Dr. Jon Hyman. I was so pleased with the care at Resurgens - Dr. Hyman and the staff were all extremely pleasant and caring, and the whole experience was very positive. I'm going skiing again in a couple of weeks - hopefully, I won't be visiting Resurgens again this time!
