Hip Arthroscopy: Olympic impact and at home


Australia's 2008 Olympian Lleyton Hewitt has withdrawn from this month's US Open after having surgery for a nagging hip injury.  The 2001 US Open winner, who last week lost to world number one Rafael Nadal in their second-round match at the Beijing Olympics, has been dogged by a hip complaint for months.

Ultimately his hip would not heal and he  needed hip arthroscopy.

More athletes, including professional Athletes, are finding that hip arthroscopy can be of great benefit.  Golden State Warrior's NBA player Troy Hudson is scheduled for hip arthroscopy January 2008.  Several NBA Basketball players have had hip arthroscopy in recent years, including Theo Ratliffe w the Atlanta Hawks(2002), Sam Cassell, Joe and Josh Shipp.

Famous hip arthroscopy patients include: singer Barry Manilow and Professional athletes like golfer Greg Norman, hockey player Mario Lemieux, skater Tara Lipinski, and football player Priest Holmes.
